Dining Room Furnishing Estimates

Pricing will also differ based table size and seating capacity. A table that can seat four vs a table that can extend to serve ten, will differ greatly in price.

You can achieve a beautiful design for even less if you’re savvy with thrifting. But not everyone has the desire, ability or time to furnish their home completely by thrifting. It’s also common that if you buy thrifted a table for your dining room, that the table top will need refinishing and/or the chairs too. Not everyone wants to tackle that big of a DIY project.

The following are investment estimates for furnishing/styling a dining room that seats 6. The prices listed are average baseline price points, but they can always be priced higher in each category. Note this does not include any designer’s fees.

Showroom & custom items are sourced through the trade with your designer. These manufacturers are not open to the public to purchase on your own. Your designer becomes your retail store, so to speak. Purchasing with your designer allows you access to high quality ready ship or custom made furnishings.

You will notice that these showroom/custom prices are often not much different from high end retail and the quality usually surpasses that of regular retail. Something to think about as you plan and make investment purchases for your home, especially for items like dining tables.
