Vintage Retro Christmas Decor

Vintage Christmas Decor is happy, colorful, whimsical and brings back those feel good memories of childhood.

Vintage Retro Christmas Decor

I’m a sucker for a rosy cheeked retro ’50’s Santa, reindeer and the pastel colors of this vintage Christmas decor style. I’ve decorated for many years in this style because it is such a jolly style full of color and cute items that my children loved to play with. I’ve found most of my items from thrift stores, estate sales or antique stores. I’ve gathered a selection of items you can find online so that you can enjoy this fun, colorful style too!

Vintage Santa Art

A quick, easy and inexpensive way to decorate for a retro Christmas is to print off vintage Santa art that you can frame or even scale down smaller to use as tags for gifts. These are more from the victorian style and not ’50’s but still make great vintage Christmas art to display. You can find some here, here, and here. There are even more vintage Santa and Christmas images available at Graphics Fairy here and here.

Putz Houses

These mini German glitter houses are also known as Putz Houses. The word comes from the German word “putzen” which means attire or to clean, polish, trim. They’re usually made out of a thick paper or thin cardboard construction, painted, covered in glitter and can light up inside for a soft glow. They make a charming addition to your vintage Christmas decor. You can also paint and decorate your own by buying a pre-made Putz house kit here or here.

Vintage Christmas Kitchen Decor

When I think of vintage decor, the vintage kitchen items always have my heart. I have a weakness for mint green anything, like my KitchenAid mixer. I also have a vintage green scale that is similar to this one and I’ve been eying this jadeite look-a-like cake platter! I’m in love with this electric Smeg kettle that comes in so many fun colors. And of course, the classic vintage Santa mugs are a must!
