GLUTEN FREE APPLESAUCE OATMEAL BARS
My original applesauce bars turned out so good with the spiced cream cheese frosting that I knew I had to make a gluten free dairy free version! These bars are just as delicious and quick to make.
My dairy sensitive daughter loves being able to enjoy these treats without hurting her tummy. We also LOVE these dairy free gluten free chocolate chip cookies, gluten free nut free granola, and fluffy gluten free dairy free pancakes.
Homemade oat flour makes these gluten free applesauce oatmeal bars easy to make with things you already probably having sitting in your pantry right now!
In order to make this completely gluten free, make sure you purchase oats that are labeled gluten free.
This is also the perfect way to use homemade applesauce, however, store bought applesauce works just as great.

Making oat flour
If you have old fashioned oats, a blender or a food processor, then you can easily make your own oat flour! Just add oats and blend until it becomes a fine flour.
I like using my stand mixer to make these gluten free applesauce oatmeal bars but you can definitely mix them by hand.
How to make Gluten free applesauce bars
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease 9 x 13 pan.
- Combine all ingredients except for glaze into a mixing bowl and combine well.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool completely on a cooling rack.
Pumpkin Spice Glaze
- In a blender or food processor, mix together confectioner’s sugar, dairy free butter sticks, pumpkin pie spice and coconut milk (or other non dairy milk) until smooth and lumps are gone. Add more or less coconut milk depending on the thickness of the brand non dairy milk used. 4 tsp coconut milk will make a more frosting like consistency. 8 tsp coconut milk makes the drizzle consistency.
- Drizzle over the top of cooled gluten free applesauce bars
- Cut into bars, serve and enjoy!
